New Student Info
First Things to Know
  1. Please arrive early to sign in. (Our door is locked when class begins.)
  2. Be prepared to sweat, so drink plenty of water before class. The more you can hydrate before class, the more you will be able to deal with the effects of the heat. The first water break is about 25 minutes into class.
  3. Come on an empty stomach, but you can eat something light at least two hours before class.
  4. Mention any pre-existing injuries to the instructor. Please do not hesitate to ask questions after class.
  5. Dress appropriately for hot temperatures. No sweat pants or long sleeves.
  6. All classes are 90 minutes. We encourage you to stay in the room; however, you may take breaks along the way by either standing still or kneeling down quietly during a pose.
  7. You will need a mat and large beach- or bath-size towel.
  8. When you enter the yoga room, please remain quiet. There are many folks that come early to class to unwind, relax, and meditate.
  9. You will be encouraged to progress at your own pace, not to push yourself, and to work to your best ability - whatever that means to you.
  10. Have fun, enjoy the experience, and don't take yourself too seriously. Come back soon!!
